Devon 2026: a hike to Morte Point during a short sunny spell
As much as we loved Cornwall, we are so fond of Devon (and so keen to break up the journey back) that we stopped in Westward Ho! Again for the bank holiday weekend. Unfortunately the weather was far from great. There were some heavy showers after some lovely but too short sunny spells. One thing that we are glad we stopped there for was the crabbing in Appledore. For us nothing beats Appledore. We are just always successful there, and the same cannot be said about other places we have recently visited.
On Sunday morning, for once this weekend, good weather was forecast so we thought of a hike that was recommended on a website. It was at Morte Point, so a 45 minute drive from Westward Ho! We even managed to spot some seals, which made my little animal lover soo happy.
