Cornwall part 4: the caves and Tintagel

On our last day in Cornwall, as we had some laundry to do, we decided not to go too far and gladly so, because we got to see our local beach at low tide. We couldn’t believe how many caves get flooded over at peak tides.

We saw the same thing in Newquay where we also saw a tidal island linked by a bridge! Unfortunately our teenager did not seem bothered but her little sister certainly did!

On the Friday, before heading to our beloved Devon, my husband suggested we visited Tintagel Castle.

I cannot believe I crossed that bridge above

At first, our little one was disappointed to only see ruins but the bridge, the statue of King Arthur and the beach and caves at the end cheered her up, as did the lamas on the way in. The way back is rather steep and uphill so luckily there is a bus service of anyone needs it.
